What you write in Notebook is yours, and we never see it.

What we collect

Nothing from your notebooks. Notebook has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We don’t sell, share or rent anything.

The one exception is our email list, and only if you choose to join it (see below).

Email updates

You can sign up for occasional emails about new features and templates, on this website or in the app. It’s optional, and the app works the same whether you join or not. If you sign up, we keep your email address, the first name you give us (if any) and where you signed up. We use them only to send those emails.

The list is stored with our email provider, Resend, which sends the emails for us. We never sell or share the list. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your details at any time by emailing support@getnotebook.app.

Where your notes live

Your notebooks are stored on your iPad. If iCloud is turned on for Notebook, they’re also kept in your own private iCloud account so they appear on your other iPads. That data is stored by Apple under your Apple ID and protected by Apple’s privacy policy. We can’t see or access it.

To remove everything, delete your notebooks in the app, or delete the app and its data in Settings › your name › iCloud.

Handwriting search

To make your handwriting searchable, Notebook reads it on your iPad using Apple’s on-device text recognition. Nothing is sent to us or anyone else.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions are sold and managed entirely by Apple. We don’t receive your name, email address or payment details. Apple only tells the app whether your subscription is active.

Camera and files

The camera is used only when you choose to scan a document, and scans go straight into your notebook. PDFs you import stay on your iPad and in your iCloud.

Widgets

Home Screen widgets show a verse of the day and open the app. They don’t read or send your notes.

Children

Notebook isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If a child has joined our email list, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If we ever start collecting anything new, we’ll say so here first, and ask before we do.
